What if I don’t have the minimum academic requirements?

Please undertake the initial screening which will determine if you have the basket of academic and other experience which will provide a chance of success.

Does the firm have preferred law school providers?

Yes Kaplan but that is advisory only. We are part of the INN group consortium, which ensures that our trainees attend Kaplan to complete their PSC alongside trainees from the other law firms within the consortium. We also have some course input and very good feedback from previous trainees.

Does the firm have any preference for LPC modules?

No but Commercial law is always useful, but you should choose any module relevant to our work and your own interests.

Do you fill all your training contract vacancies from vacation schemes?

No but 50% of the final interviewees will come from that source.

Do you give preference to law students or students from preferred universities?

No.

Do you only recruit recent graduates?

No.

Are there opportunities for secondments?

Yes, but more often as a junior lawyer rather than a trainee. We do encourage newly qualified lawyers to take a break between the training contract and beginning as a lawyer and some have taken secondments with our Parlex international network.

Are there opportunities for paralegal work?

Do you offer training contracts to non-UK residents?

Yes

Do you require applicants to have UK work permits?

No, but the training contract can only be commenced if a valid work permit is in place.

Applicants for our Vacation Placements will need permission to work in the UK as these placements are paid. Proof of eligibility will be required with either a UK passport, work permit and or visa on being offered a placement.

Can I defer my start date once I have accepted an offer?

It will need to be in mitigating circumstance and will need to be by agreement only.

Do you keep in touch with future trainees during GDL/LPC years?

Yes, we invite future trainees to a number of our social events and our current trainees have regular get together for all.
